Diplomats' cruelty threat to Pakistani citizens

By: Haroon Baloch

ISLAMABAD, March 3: Pakistani citizens are under immense threat since diplomatic episodes like Raymond Davis kept happening during the past one-year with Farid Ullah being another victim of so called "diplomatic immunity".

Farid Ullah, 47 ex-army Jawan was a private security guard at Phoenix Securities Pvt. Ltd. after his retirement who worked normally 384 hours a month for Rs. 8000 only to brought up his six children and wife. Throughout  his career, he guarded humans lives earlier at borders and then diplomatic missions in Islamabad. But he did not  know that at the end a diplomat would claim his life.

The victims daughter while talking to this correspondent said, "Our father had dreams for us, he struggled hard to teach us so to protect our future". "Now who is responsible for our future", she queried and burst into tears.

Exclusive news story of Rohi TV - Islamabad

"A silver Land Cruiser, allegedly a bulletproof with fake registration identity reading as QN 907 hit Farid Ullah from front at Ayub Square, merely a few blocs away from PM House and the Apex Court and rush away in early hours of 27 February", told Jaffar Khan, brother of the victim to this correspondent. He added, "Farid Ullah could have survived if he was commuted to the nearby Polyclinic Hospital.

Farid Ullah's wife registered the case against unidentified person at Kohsar Police Station, but authorities seem helpless in retrieving the vehicle. While talking to this correspondent the SHO Kohsar Police Station Mr. Fayaz Tanoli said, it is an old story now. "We still could not locate the car, but investigations are underway. As soon as we get a clue, we will take necessary action", said Mr. Tanoli.

Same sort of incidents where Pakistani citizens lose their lives in the hands of diplomats are taking place every now and then. Diplomats are violating laws of the host country under the diplomatic cover. "It seems local authorities also provide assistance to diplomatic missions", Jaffar Ullah blamed.

He demanded from Pakistani authorities to take action so to ensure lives of citizens.

Changing environment and Pakistan’s crises

Haroon Baloch January 07, 2011 The pace of development in South Asia has always remained questionable, mainly attributed to outsized populations. China, the world’s largest population, neighbors the second largest India, as well as the seventh largest population Pakistan. Environmental concerns of the region are reciprocal to their populations. Developed industrial countries are considered responsible for the international environmental crises, while developing countries bear the brunt of negative consequences as they lack resources and capabilities to control this grave problem.  In Pakistan, pity natural resource management over years and high population growth exacerbated environmental menace.
